- 1 cup apricot jam (250 grams)
- 1 tablespoon honey (21 grams, optional)
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2-1 teaspoon chili powder (to your own spice level)
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder (or grainy mustard)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup water (125 milliliters, to desired consistency)
- 1-2 tablespoon bourbon (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring regularly to dissolve the jam and blend the flavors.
- Simmer: Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Add a little extra water if it becomes too thick.
- For a smooth texture, blend briefly with an immersion blender, but this will depend on your apricot jam.
- Serve with your favorite BBQ dishes, as a glaze on chicken or pork, or as a dipping sauce and much more!
