Description

This easy apricot BBQ sauce is sweet, smoky, and tangy- perfect for glazing, dipping, or drizzling over grilled meats and veggies.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup apricot jam (250 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (21 grams, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon chili powder (to your own spice level)
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder (or grainy mustard)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup water (125 milliliters, to desired consistency)
  • 1-2 tablespoon bourbon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring regularly to dissolve the jam and blend the flavors.
  2. Simmer: Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Add a little extra water if it becomes too thick.
  3. For a smooth texture, blend briefly with an immersion blender, but this will depend on your apricot jam.
  4. Serve with your favorite BBQ dishes, as a glaze on chicken or pork, or as a dipping sauce and much more!
