Description
Elevate your appetizers with this burrata appetizer - creamy burrata, crisp radishes, toasted walnuts, honey, balsamic glaze, and fresh basil in one easy, elegant recipe.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 small burrata
- 2 radishes, thinly sliced
- 3-4 walnuts, roughly chopped og dry roasted
- 1/2 teaspoon sliced or torn fresh basil
- 1/2-1 teaspoon honey
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
- 1-2 teaspoon(s) extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon Maldon salt (or other flaky sea salt)
Instructions
- Rest the burrata at room temperature: Drain and dry the burrata and leave it at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving to enhance its flavors. Place the burrata on a shallow plate.
- Toast the walnuts: Meanwhile, place chopped walnuts in a dry pan over medium heat. Shake occasionally until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Let cool slightly.
- Add the toppings: Scatter the sliced radishes around the burrata. Sprinkle the toasted walnuts evenly. Add the sliced basil.
- Finish: Drizzle with olive oil and honey. Spoon over balsamic glaze (you can also make balsamic glaze yourself!). Finish with cracked pepper and flaky sea salt. Serve immediately with good bread.
Notes
Turn this into a full salad by adding crisp lettuce, cucumber, halved cherry tomatoes, and thinly sliced red onion. For extra texture, add toasted sourdough croutons. A pinch of chili flakes introduces subtle heat. Lemon zest adds brightness and freshness.
