Description
Black Swan inspired cranberry sangria with the deep, rich color of red wine, which pops with fresh cranberries. A fresh sangria that looks stunning and goes well with a number of occasions!
Ingredients
- 1 bottle dry red wine* (750 ml)
- 4 cups cranberry juice (1 liter)
- 4 tbsp cointreau, any orange liqueur will do
- 1 orange, juice only
- 2 cups fresh cranberries (200g)
- 1 cup sparkling water (250 ml, optional)
- cinnamon stick, orange slices, optional
Instructions
- Pour 1 bottle of red wine with 1 liter of cranberry juice into a large pitcher. Add 4 tbsp orange liqueur and juice of one orange.
- Wash the cranberries and add to the pitcher. Give it a stir and chill. For the sangria to get its rich taste, you should let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.
- If you want it more festive: add 1-2 cinnamon sticks and orange slices before letting it chill, and top with sparkling water right before serving.
- For extra cold sangria, serve each glass with red wine ice cubes**.
Notes
* Best red wines are those that are low-tannin, e.g. the Spanish Garnacha or Pinot Noir.
** You could make red wine ice cubes ahead of time. When you leave the sangria to rest overnight you'll also have time to make these. Just pour red wine in an ice cube tray and freeze. This way your sangria will be cold but not watered down!
