Hot Honey Brie (Easy Baked Brie)

Description

Hot Honey Brie baked until gooey and topped with chili-infused honey and rosemary. Easy, cozy appetizer perfect for holidays and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 x 5.3 ounces brie wheel (150 grams)*
  • 1/4 cup honey (85 grams)
  • 1/2-1/3 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1/3 teaspoon fresh rosemary (optional)
  • Sprinkle of sea salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bake the brie: Place the brie wheel on a small oven-safe dish or baking tray lined with parchment. Bake until the center is soft and gooey - this usually takes around 17-20 minutes, depending on the size and thickness of the cheese.
  3. Make hot honey: While the brie is baking, prepare the hot honey. Warm the honey gently in a small saucepan until just below a simmer. Add chili flakes and rosemary, then keep it on very low heat for about 10 minutes to infuse. Remove from heat.
  4. Strain if desired: You can strain the honey or leave the chili and rosemary in. Leaving it unstrained gives a more rustic look and stronger flavor, which works especially well here.
  5. Pour hot honey over brie: Once the brie is out of the oven, spoon the hot honey generously over the top. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt and, if you like, a few extra rosemary needles.
  6. Serve immediately as it firms up in just about 15 minutes. Cut it open when ready to serve, to gain access to the ooey gooey goodness. Make sure you have all the other things you are serving it with ready!

* The hot honey is enough for 2-3 brie wheels.
