- 2 teaspoons allspice (allehånde)
- 2 teaspoons nutmeg (muskat)
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper (svart pepper)
Chai tea latte:
- 1 cup whole milk (250 milliliters)
- 1/2 cup water (125 milliliters)
- 1 teaspoon black tea leaves (or one tea bag)
- 1-2 teaspoon(s) chai spice mix
Instructions
- To make the chai spice mix: Combine all the ingredients together and add to an airtight glass container. Keeps for months in a dry environment.
- To make a chai tea latte: Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and bring it up to a gentle simmer. Take it off the heat and let it infuse for 5 minutes.
- If you want a stronger chai flavor, use a tea bag instead of loose tea leaves and take that out after 5 minutes and let the rest infuse for 30+ minutes. Re-heat.
- Strain into your favorite mug. Double-strain if you want to avoid all of the ground spices.
- If you want a dirty chai latte: Add a shot of espresso to this drink!
