Description
Easy Homemade Orange Chocolate Fudge is so - you know it - fudgy, and with an intense flavor of both orange and chocolate. A heavenly match!
Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1 14 ounces can sweetened condensed milk (400 grams)*
- Peel of half an orange, avoid white rinds
- 3/4-1 teaspoon orange extract (I used LorAnn's orange bakery emulsion)
- 12 ounces high quality semisweet dark chocolate (340 grams)
- 1 tablespoon orange liqueur (optional, I used Cointreau)
Instructions
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, add and combine sweetened condensed milk, orange peel and orange extract. Microwave for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Remove orange peel.
- Add chopped dark chocolate and orange liqueur if using. Let sit a minute and then stir until completely melted. Taste and check orange flavor, add more if desired.
- Add plastic wrap or parchment paper to the bottom of a 8x8 inches (20 x 20 centimeters) pan or something similar in size, making sure to bring the foil up the edges.
- Pour in the orange chocolate mixture, and cover the top directly with plastic wrap, try to avoid any air bubbles. Chill in the refrigerator until set, about 4 hours.
- Let it come to room temperature for 30 minutes or so before cutting into desired pieces. In these photos I cut the mixture in 6x6 = 36 pieces, but you can also double that.
- The fudge can last about 10 days in an airtight container in room temperature, but 3 weeks in the refrigerator.
